Avner DORMAN: Uzu and Muzu from Kakaruzu
Haruka Fujii and Luke Rinderknecht, percussion
This piece by composer Avner Dorman was written to accompany an original story by Efraim Sidon, known as the “Dr. Seuss of Israel” for his fun use of words and humorous treatment of serious subjects. Uzu and Muzu tells the story of two close brothers who quarrel over a trivial matter. The disagreement spurs the building of a wall down the middle of their home. It takes four generations for the fractured family to reconcile, at which point they realize that the conflict was utterly pointless.
