Ushers and Ticket Takers

Ashland and Grants Pass performances rely upon the dedication of our volunteer ushers, who help to make concerts run smoothly and are often the first point of contact with Symphony patrons. An usher arrives before the concert and reports to the House Manager. Before the concert, the ushers take ticket stubs from patrons, hand out programs, direct the flow of patrons in the hall, open and close the doors, and assist elderly or disabled patrons to their seats as needed. After the concert, the ushers work with the House Manager to collect programs and any personal belongings left in the hall.
A volunteer usher needs excellent people skills, the ability to stand for extended periods, the ability to work as a team, and a commitment to friendly service. Attire needs to be black and/or white. This opportunity is available at the Ashland and Grants Pass venues.

Brochure/Poster Distributor

RVS brochures and posters need to be delivered to a variety of places in Ashland, Medford, and Grants Pass before each concert series. Volunteers are not asked to deliver to all three cities, and may choose a preferred location. This volunteer opportunity requires that you have a car. Printed materials can be picked up in the RVS office, located at 1875 Hwy 99 N, Suite 7, near Butler Ford at the North Ashland exit.

Office Assistant/Box Office Assistant

RVS Office Assistants and Box Office Assistants help with general clerical tasks and bulk mailings on an as-needed basis. Ticket stubs from performances also need to be counted and sorted, and program books need to be packed and archived. Occasionally, the office may need assistance with printing and arranging name tags for the post-concert receptions.
